M ar 1 99 6 Comment on the “ θ - term renormalization in the ( 2 + 1 ) - dimensional CP N − 1 model with θ term ”
Comment on the " θ-term renormalization in the (2+1)-dimensional CP N−1 model with θ term " Abstract It is found that the recently published first coefficient of nonzero β-function for the Chern-Simons term in the 1/N expansion of the CP N −1 model is untrue numerically. The correct result is given. The main conclusions of the paper [1] are not changed.
متن کاملOn the Θ-term in Electrodynamics
The term ΘǫFμνFρσ, when added to the electromagnetic Lagrangian − 1 16π FFμν , does not change the signature of the Lagrangian. Actually, it increases the part with negative kinetic energy term at the spatial infinity. For this reason it does not change the conclusion, that at the spatial infinity the magnetic part of the electromagnetic field should be absent. PACS numbers: 12.20.Os , 11.10.Ij
متن کاملA lattice model in three dimensions with a θ term
A lattice model in three dimensions with a θ term We study a three-dimensional abelian lattice model in which the analogue of a theta term can be defined. This term is defined by introducing a neutral scalar field and its effect is to couple magnetic monopoles to the scalar field and vortices to the gauge field. An interesting feature of this model is the presence of an exact duality symmetry t...
متن کاملMaximum Entropy Method Approach to θ Term
In Monte Carlo simulations of lattice field theory with a θ term, one confronts the complex weight problem, or the sign problem. This is circumvented by performing the Fourier transform of the topological charge distribution P (Q). This procedure, however, still causes the flattening phenomenon of the free energy, which prevents one from studying the phase structure. In order to work at this is...
متن کاملModels with a θ Term and Fixed Point Action
The topological charge distribution P (Q) is calculated for lattice CP models. In order to suppress lattice cut-off effects, we employ a fixed point (FP) action. Through transformation of P (Q), we calculate the free energy F (θ) as a function of the θ parameter. For N=4, scaling behavior is observed for P (Q) and F (θ), as well as the correlation lengths ξ(Q). For N=2, however, scaling behavio...
